Synopsis
Mac Cloutier, “The Negotiator,” is now a well-established crime reporter. While covering numerous cases, he is personally invested in proving the innocence of someone wrongfully accused of murder. With the help of Hector, who survived his injuries, Mac pieces together this puzzle while navigating a brutal turf war between two rival Montreal gangs: the Italians of Luna Rosa and the Piché brothers' crew. Meanwhile, the Commission of Inquiry into Organized Crime (CECO) is in full swing. Like a bad dream, Mac keeps crossing paths with the police duo he knows too well: Sly and Lebel. These intense cases test his skills and invade his personal life, forcing him into moral dilemmas that blur the line of legality and bring painful consequences. Mac negotiates with burglars, an ex-convict and his young accomplice, a Superior Court judge, a suspected Montreal mafia boss, a gang leader, a loan shark, a woman with Down syndrome, a fugitive on the run, his wife, a pimp, a psychopath, and a madam protecting her girls. Season two delves deeper into Mac’s personal life—his relationships with the women in his life, his parents, and his newfound fatherhood. Now that he has a son, what drives his relentless need to sacrifice his private life, take on the most dangerous cases, and risk his life over and over again?
