Synopsis

An Italian cook is casually preparing ham and eggs when a masked gunman bursts into Caffè Firenze, one of the go-to spots for the Italian mafia on the North Shore. In a hail of bullets, the godfather’s nephew is killed. The only witness to the scene belongs to the Lauzon crime clan, whose leader, Maurice, mysteriously disappears that same night... Coincidence? Rumors quickly swirl, suggesting the young Italian’s murder is the result of a turf war between the Lauzons and the Italians. The two criminal organizations are fighting to secure a major construction contract for a new synagogue commissioned by the Hasidic Jewish community. But the truth is far more complicated. That morning, someone else was supposed to die, but who?

To make matters even stranger, Maurice Lauzon, now missing, had been a longtime visitor to a nudist camp, one that happens to be located right next to a Hasidic summer retreat. The owners of Le Paradis Terrestre nudist camp are convinced they know the real story.

To untangle this web of crime, Constance once again teams up with her trusted crew: Jonas, her loyal right-hand man; Fred Bérubé, her boss and now her partner; the “potbelly club”, or what’s left of it; and, of course, the insufferable Antoine Chevrier-Marseau, a major crimes investigator from Montreal. The cat-and-mouse game between cops and criminals continues…
