Synopsis
Both a historical thriller and a sweeping portrait of women’s condition, the television series Musée Eden presents an extraordinary police investigation into the early days of forensic medicine and crime journalism in Quebec. This unique story begins in Montreal in 1910, where a series of murders remain unsolved, with no trace of the killer. Camille and Florence Courval, two young women from Manitoba, have just inherited Musée Eden, a wax museum specializing in criminal news. With the help of Dr. Boyer, a forensic doctor passionate about new investigative techniques, and Étienne Monestier, a star crime reporter, they embark on a tumultuous quest to unmask the murderer. As they descend into Montreal’s underworld, Camille and Florence uncover a world of violence, misery, and injustice, where underage prostitutes, corrupt police officers, opium-addicted abortionists, cursed artists, high-profile thieves, and deranged killers coexist. These encounters will shake their moral convictions and challenge their beliefs about life and human nature. Yet, through it all, the two sisters remain unwaveringly loyal to each other. On this journey into darkness, Camille and Florence will also come face to face with love. In their own ways, they will each experience a passion so intense, it will change their lives forever.
